Health and Safety
Please remember that waiting, dropping off or parking on double yellow lines, school zig zags or stopping in the middle of the road is illegal and puts children’s lives at serious risk: we encourage walking to school where possible.
Security
To help us maintain a safe and secure school, we ask all visitors and parents to sign in at the school office and wear a visitor’s badge. All Raglan Staff wear name badges, including supply teachers and students. The office will be pleased to welcome you.
Exit Slips
If a child is required to leave school before the close of the day, an exit slip will be issued by the school office to the parent. Please will you let us know in advance if an exit slip is required. Staff will not allow a child to leave their care without seeing an exit slip.
Road Safety and Parking
Waiting, dropping off or parking on double yellow lines, school zig zags or stopping in the middle of the road is illegal and puts children’s lives at serious risk. We work closely with the local police, road safety unit and parking attendants. Any parent driving to, or collecting from, school must park their car legally on a nearby street then walk to the entrance to collect or drop off their child. We have a school travel plan and encourage walking to school.
Grounds
Dogs are not allowed on school premises nor are they allowed to be tied to the school railings. Children are not allowed to enter the school premises out of school hours.
Evacuations
Fire and bomb evacuation drills take place throughout the year. If you are in school, please vacate in an orderly fashion and report to the secretary in the playground. When alarm bells ring, all pupils must exit in silence and remain silent as registers are called.
