The Six School Rules
Our school rules are based on rights and responsibilities. When the academic year begins each September, the School Council (as elected by the class through a democratic process) chooses the wording of the six School Rules. Each class then discusses and agrees the wording of the rules for their particular class.
The rules are displayed clearly in every class. Having the same six rules in every class and across the school brings a supportive consistency for children, parents/carers and staff.
- Learning – we work quietly, helpfully together. We take turns.
- Talking/Communication – we speak kindly and respectfully to each other.
- Movement – we walk quietly in our room and put things away carefully.
- Treatment – we are kind to each other, always polite and respectful and use good manners.
- Safety – we choose not to hurt people. We use equipment safely.
- Problem Solving – we choose to solve problems in a fair manner. If that is hard, we ask an adult for help.
Respect Yourself – Respect Others.
