If a decision is reached to close the School
Should the decision have to be taken to close, this website will contain all information necessary and any updates.
Do not call the school telephone number as lines get congested quickly which can prevent essential outside line use such as to call for plumbers to fix burst pipes!
If you see an update on the website - please inform your friends and other parents as you can - it would help greatly!
If the School remains open
If the school is open, children may wear boots and wellies to school, bring warm gloves, hats and warm coats to play outside in the snow and bring indoor slippers or shoes - some children pack a small towel in their schoolbag just in case! It is our opinion that children should be given the opportunity to play safely and have fun in the snow.
Other notes and links:
- None of the roads surrounding our school are on the local authority’s gritting list and their latest Enfield Council Severe Weather Warning Website reports to having enough grit to do 40% of the borough’s network.
- BBC Weather update for Enfield and Barnet
- Many staff have to travel from afar and this often impacts adequate staffing ratios and decisions to remain open or to close.
- Whether the Infant School is open or closed will also be a consideration.
Many thanks
Mr Prentice
