Year 4 Visit the Lion King at the Lyceum
Posted ~ Tuesday 01 December 2009
Year 4 of The Raglan Junior school, Enfield, travelled to the
Lyceum theatre on the Wednesday 18th November to watch the
Lion king as they are using the musical for their work in English.
This amazing musical was very similar to the film.
Simba the cub of King Mufasa is born and presented
to the animal kingdom. Scar, Simba’s uncle wants to claim the
throne and tries to kill them both. He succeeds on trying
to kill Mufasa but tells Simba to run away and never to return. Simba
runs away and meets Timon the meercat and Pumbaa the warthog.
Nala one of Simba’s friends as a cub, also runs away and meets Simba and she tries to
persuades Simba to take his throne but he won’t. After Seeing his dad in the clouds Simba changes his mind. He
challenges Scar to a fight and scar loses and dies. So Simba becomes
King and marries Nala and they have a cub.
Zazu and Timon were both puppets, the
actors holding them were
painted to look like their surroundings.
By pumba and Timon’s American accent you could
tell they were different to all the other animals.
The beatings of the drums made you feel as if
you were actually there.
A golden sun rose letting all the animals through
the audience and onto the stage. It was
an amazing experience because it made you feel
magical and you could feel the atmosphere. The
Production really came alive!
