Letter to parents from Anna Williams - Chair of Governors

Dear Parents,

Owing to the serious, long-term illness of her mother whom she has been caring for, we are sorry to inform you that Mrs Dykins, Deputy Head, will unfortunately be leaving us.

During her 20 years at Raglan, Mrs Dykins has been a longstanding, extremely valuable member of staff.  She has played an invaluable role throughout the school, often in year 6, culminating in becoming deputy head in recent years.  She has been a mainstay on school journeys, planning events and timetabling and has given many hours of her free time to the school and our pupils to ensure they receive the best possible education.  She has inspired and guided new staff on their career path and played a pivotal role in pastoral care and contact with the community.

We will be very sorry to see her go, especially in these difficult circumstances and wish her all the very best.  She will however be a frequent visitor and familiar face around the school as she continues to help in a variety of ways.

The governors, together with Mr Kelsey (Headteacher from Easter) are working towards developing the new staffing structure, to ensure continuity and progression.

Yours sincerely

Anna Williams
Chair of Governors
